Steven Ramage serves as the conference chair of the GIM International Summit. Steven’s very diverse location career began with container ships and marine surveying before he joined Navteq (Nokia HERE) in the 1990s. In 2001, Steven moved to 1Spatial (formerly Laser-Scan) where he led the market development of the spatial database tools before being appointed as an executive director to the open standards body, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in 2010. He subsequently joined Ordnance Survey as managing director of their international business. Most recently, Steven joined what3words as a director – an organisation that is building a global location reference and address platform using only words. Steven is a visiting professor at the Institute for Future Cities at the University of Strathclyde, UK and a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS).
